The Ubiquiti UniFi Access Hub is an enterprise-grade, single-door electronic access control mechanisms router designed to unify physical building security with modern digital control networks. Functioning as the intelligent, centralized brain of a single-door access setup, this controller box bridges electronic locks, entry card scanners, request-to-exit buttons, motion triggers, and security cameras onto a unified network.

Operating seamlessly within the UniFi Access management platform, the hub runs off a single high-power network drop to provide real-time event logging, remote door control, and granular security role scheduling.

Unified Wiring & Relay Terminal Control

The UA-HUB houses a complete block of low-voltage screw-terminal relays and a managed internal 4-port Ethernet switch, allowing installers to terminate a full suite of hardware peripherals directly onto one clean chassis board:

• Dedicated Access Reader Ports: Built with three PoE-powered RJ45 Ethernet ports (UA-Pro, UA-Lite, and UniFi Protect Camera links). This allows you to combine proximity card access, mobile app identification, and live security video surveillance over simple Category cables.

• Dual Lock Control Relays: Out of the box, the system features a dedicated Powered Lock terminal block (supporting 12V DC configurations up to 1 Amp output) and a secondary Dry Relay Lock terminal loop. This supports seamless operation with both electronic strike locks (like the UA-LOCK-ELECTRIC) and high-load magnetic locks.

• Auxiliary & Sensor Terminals: Includes dry-contact input blocks designed to read physical door position sensors (DPS), mechanical emergency push buttons, motion-tracking request-to-exit sensors, and external auxiliary sounders.

High-Security Safety Protocols & Fire Alarm Integrations

• Dedicated Emergency Fire Override: Built with a specialized, isolated physical emergency input terminal block. By connecting this block directly into a commercial fire alarm panel control board, a triggered alarm immediately forces the hub to cut power to locks or open circuits instantly. This ensures all exit doors fail-open automatically for safe building evacuation, meeting strict building codes.

• DIN-Rail Mechanical Housing: Designed for secure installation inside server cabinets, standard distribution boxes, or on standard metal DIN-rails, allowing for clean, organized multi-door vertical rack installations.

Critical Installer Power Prerequisite: To run the UA-HUB along with its downstream electronic locks and NFC card readers, the hardware requires an upstream 802.3bt PoE++ power source delivering 50 Watts (or more). Using an older 802.3af or 802.3at switch will prevent the locks or readers from powering up correctly under load.
