The Ubiquiti UniFi USW-Flex is a compact, managed Layer 2 Gigabit switch designed for both indoor and outdoor network expansions. If you need to install multiple IP security cameras, wireless access points, or VoIP phones in a location where mains power outlets are unavailable—such as ceilings, external walls, or remote outbuildings—this switch provides a neat, single-cable solution.

By running just one high-quality ethernet cable from your main network switch to the USW-Flex, you can split that connection into four distinct, power-delivering ports without needing a local power supply.

  • Power Pass-Through Operation: The switch requires no mains plug. It is powered entirely via the incoming ethernet cable (PoE input), passing that power along to down-stream hardware.

  • Centralised UniFi Management: Monitored and configured through the standard UniFi Network software. You can manage VLANs, check port speeds, and remotely power-cycle frozen cameras without climbing a ladder.

Because the USW-Flex relies on the power it receives from your upstream switch or PoE injector, its total available power output depends on that input source. Before connecting your hardware, verify your power budget using the reference table below:
